Inpatient Services
The Heart Center includes a 49-bed unit that specializes in heart and kidney patients. The unit includes 12 intermediate care beds and three team centers. Our most frequent cardiac patients have experienced chest pain, coronary artery disease with complications, heart attacks, heart failure, heart rhythm problems, heart surgery, pacemaker, and implantable defibrillator placements.
Surgery
We offer a full range of cardiovascular surgery procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting, repair, and replacement of heart valves, repair of select congenital heart defects, surgical correction of atrial fibrillation, and major aortic surgery. Our surgeons specialize in off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, cardiac surgery in high-risk patients, and surgical repair of aortic dissections and thoracic aortic aneurysms. Our surgeons also specialize in the surgical treatment of the aorta including repair of aortic dissections, aortic aneurysms, and aortic injuries related to trauma. We also offer nonsurgical repair of aortic aneurysms - endovascular stenting of the aorta - for patients who meet the specified criteria.
Cardiovascular Imaging
The Echocardiography Laboratory, the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory, and the Electrocardiogram Laboratory offer a full range of heart monitoring and non-invasive imaging services. We maintain a longstanding standard of high quality transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, with the addition of newer modalities such as 3D echocardiography, strain and myocardial perfusion imaging. Cardiac stress testing is available using exercise and dobutamine echocardiography as well as exercise and pharmacological myocardial perfusion (nuclear) imaging. Advanced imaging with coronary CT angiography, calcium score and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are also routinely performed in conjunction with the radiology department.
Cardiac Catheterization Lab
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab features state-of-the-art technology and treatment for heart disease, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology labs, and the door-to-balloon program.
Arrhythmia Management Program
The Arrhythmia Management Program involves all aspects of current diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. These include drug therapy, electrophysiologic testing, pacemakers, defibrillators, and radiofrequency ablation.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiovascular Rehabilitation offers individualized, comprehensive and follow up care to the cardiovascular patient.
