The Children’s Hospital at HCMC includes:

• the General Inpatient Care Unit
• Newborn nursery
• Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Our general inpatient unit is a 15-bed unit that specializes in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. Our multidisciplinary team includes:

• Chaplains
• Child Life Specialists
• Dieticians
• Nurses
• Pharmacists
• Physicians
• Social Workers
• Therapists 

We are dedicated to meeting the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of the children in our care and making every attempt to ensure your child's hospital stay is as comfortable as possible.

Our unique, tightly knit team works closely together, partnering with our patients and families every day. We take small steps to provide big comfort to our patients. We use numbing medications to take away the fear and pain of needle pokes and allow parents to hold their child during an IV start. We offer a safe and secure unit with private rooms, a playroom, computer access, electronic entertainment options, arts and crafts, and lots of toys and games as a part of our family-centered pediatric care.
