In honor of National Injury Prevention Day, Hennepin Healthcare is again hosting a Baby Safety Shower at its Redleaf Center for Family Healing on Friday, November 15 from 1 pm to 5 p.m. Expecting parents or parents who have a child under 3 years old are invited to attend to learn about a variety of safety topics, including how to be safe around pets, car seat safety, safe sleep tips, water safety, poison prevention, infant/child CPR, and more.

"According to a recent study from the CDC, 1 in 5 unintentional injuries results in death," explains Trauma Prevention Coordinator Kaytlin Hanson, M.S.CCC-SLP. "It's heartbreaking when children experience these types of injuries, so we want to do what we can to raise awareness about how to prevent them. The Baby Safety Shower is a fun, engaging way to share that information."
